We all welcome our new Principal, Dr. Attaway!

Hello from Dr. Attaway

I am extremely excited to join the community of St. Anne Catholic School as your new principal. St. Anne has an outstanding reputation of excellence and tradition committed to a quality Catholic School education. As a former elementary school principal of two Blue Ribbon Schools, I recognize the hard work and dedication that is involved in providing this level of excellence for students, teachers, and family and community members.

Just so you will know about my history in schools, I am a 30 year veteran public school educator having served as a teacher, supervisor of curriculum and instruction, and principal of four elementary schools that have been varied with respect to size, ethnicity, income level, and academic need. Monsignor Kelly Catholic High School has provided me with my first experience in Catholic School education. I can clearly see that God has literally “saved the best for last” for me with regard to my school experiences and the opportunity to serve at St. Anne.

My husband, Dale, and I have been married twenty-three years and we are originally from the Golden Triangle area. Eleven years ago we moved to Katy, Texas so that I could accept an elementary principalship in Katy ISD. Showing support for me and my new job, Dale retired from Chevron, USA and returned to college to complete his degree in teaching. Although we truly enjoyed working in the Katy community, we became homesick after ten years of living “in the big city.” We built a new home in 2005 in Wildwood enabling us to be closer to family and friends.

Retirement may seem the ideal quest to many people, but Dale and I discovered that we missed the excitement of working with students. He was hired at Monsignor Kelly Catholic High School and absolutely loves it. Fortunately I too was hired to fill in as a substitute for Kelly’s counselor who was on leave due to her husband’s illness. Since the counselor’s return, I have been blessed with the opportunity to continue working with Kelly for the remainder of the school year.

I look forward to meeting all of you in the near future as we work together with the glory of Christ’s all-encompassing love.

Sincerely,

Kathy Attaway
