Philosophy
At St. Anne School, technology is integrated into the academic disciplines and serves as a learning tool.
All classrooms have three student computers and one teacher computer. All computers are networked and have email capability. Each classroom has a Smartboard and document camera.
COMPUTER CLASS
St Anne has a 25-station, networked computer lab that is used by all students to accomplish their curriculum goals.
Preschool through 8th grade will come to the Computer Lab twice a year to fulfill their elective requirement. Each elective course is nine-weeks in duration.
Curriculum
Primary grades are introduced to keyboarding, word processing and Power Point. A large variety of software to help reinforce reading, writing skills and math skills are also utilized with these younger grades. Online activities are also introduced to further teach technology skills and core subjects.
Secondary grades are mastering the keyboarding skills with the use of an online keyboarding program – Ellsworth Publishing Company. They are taught how to do multi-media projects which incorporate Power Point, Excel, Word Processing and various online activities.
Some of these multi-media projects are Claymation and PODcasting. Click on these links* for some student produced projects:
The curriculum focuses on the teaching, learning, and integration of digital technology knowledge and skills across the curriculum, especially in the foundation areas, to support learning and promote student achievement. St. Anne’s technology instruction is in line with
Texas Required Technology Applications Curriculum which provides a vertical look at what is expected for students Pre-Kindergarten through grade 12. It prepares all students with a background for whatever they may choose to do today as well as in their future.
